New exciting territory

Well, it feels llike it has been far too long since my last post and I promised myself i would blog tonight. All the interstate rellies have gone home from their visit for the wedding, (including mum :( ), My sister has left for two weeks on her honey moon and i finally have had some time to ponder where i am at with LilySky.

First things first, i must post a piccy or two of the beautiful wedding. Despite being a really long day with some funny dramas along the way, it was a beautiful affair and everyone had a great time!

Mummy and the munchkins

The happy Couple

Now they are off on their honeymoon on a secluded tropical island, ENJOY GUYS xoxox

As soon as i dropped mum at the airport today the wheels began turning, trying to pick up where i left off with lilysky was a touch overwhelming. Perhaps coupled with the reality of not seeing mum again for another year and facing a terribly untidy house.....i just had no idea where to begin. I had been spending any and all freetime trying to get a simple but 'pretty' and functional website up. The whole process, admitedlly was a little rushed, i picked up a copy of melbourne child and discovered that the following months issue was going to be a "party special" i noticed that the deadline for advertisement submisiions was coming up and so it all seemed so ",meant to be" - Kismet!

Somehow i ended up with two websites, both of which were not optimal for one reason or another. Finally i took DP advise and called his brother, who pointed me in the direction of both a great domain name site as well as a great web builder site, Thanks Jase xo
So now i am well on the way to getting the website up and looking good and the ad went to print today, (in true lilysky fashion, i was just in time to add the new webaddress to it).

Now I did finally get those professional shots of the hens night so i will flood the rest of tonights blog with the gorgeous pics.

The hens night was quite a few months in planning I had wonderful help from my friend Tara. I went to the bigger op shops, like Savers and found some really beautiful tea cups that we deliberately mismatched with saucers, then printed little tags so each guest had their own cup for the night. There were quite a few guests and to create height on the table i stacked the tea cups and saucers.

The eat me cookies each guest received in their own unique and personalised tea cup.

The tables were filled with yummy 'tea party' treats, like beautiful ribbon sandwiches, delicious slices and cakes and pots of tea filled with various cocktails. Brightly coloured and varying sized paper lanterns ran above the center of the table.

There were two normal sized teapots that had 'G & Tea' in them on the outdoor table and there were two giant, oversized teapots that were filled with Vodka and Orange, little teapots were sat beside each giant one,  with grenadine in one and galliano in the other. A little 'Tent Card' indicated that by adding a dash from the little teapots to the vodka and orange drinks you could create a whole new cocktail; the harvey wallbanger or a vodka sunrise.

The little grenadine filled teapot.

I made 'teabag' tags to stick out of all of the teapots, both as decoration and also to indicate to guests what cocktail they are drinking.

Taras' dad is a chef and made these delicious and super cute sandwiches. Thanks Trevor.

Paper flowers of all colours and sizes adorned the chairs. Such a simple but pretty and inexpensive decoration.

We had cute tiny glass bottles with corks filled with chambord and coloured with a dash of colouring and attached little 'drink me' tags to them.

This was the entryway, we created a rabbithole out of paper mache and real ivy vine clippings. To the side was a quaint little table and chair with a stainless steel tea cup and saucer and a photoframe with the following quote inside:

"There is a place like no place on earth, a land full of wonder, mystery and danger. Some say to survive it, you need to be mad as a hatter" - The Mad Hatter

The Bride to be, (well in this pic anyway). I got this cute Alice outfit for her off ebay.

That Is the end of the blog for tonight. I hope you all enjoy these pics as much as i did. Thank You so much to Neil, from Neil Prieto Photography for taking these gorgeous pics. Thanks to Tazza and her mum and dad for all their help too, making some of the yummy treats and sacrificing the lushness of their ivy plant so our rabbithole would look great :)

Check out my new site here - Still a fair way off being finnished,( should be live within the next day at the moment it may direct you to crazy domains), but should be ready to take orders, by May. Here is my temporary site. If you know of anyone throwing a party or wanting their special event to be different, personal and gorgeous please point them my way.

Night all, It has been a full Day. Sweet Dreams
